An important component of sexual intelligence is having up to date and reliable information about sexuality. There are a number of organizations that provide such
information, and we have included links to them.
- The Sexuality Information and
Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is a national, nonprofit
organization which affirms that sexuality is a natural and healthy part of
living. Incorporated in 1964, SIECUS develops, collects, and disseminates
information, promotes comprehensive education about sexuality, and advocates
the right of individuals to make responsible sexual choices.
- The Unitarian Universalist Association, together with the United
Church of Christ, has developed a new, comprehensive sexuality curriculum
called Our Whole Lives, available
for religious-based sexuality education as well as secular education programs.
- Founded in 1916, Planned Parenthoood is the world's largest and oldest voluntary
family planning organization. Planned Parenthood is dedicated to the principles that
every individual has a fundamental right to decide when or whether to have a child,
and that every child should be wanted and loved. Also run by Planned Parenthood is
teenwire.com, a website for teens with sexuality and relationship information.
- Advocates for Youth
is an organization devoted to helping young people make safe and responsible
decisions about sex.
